Oh the craziness of miscommunication!
Really, if I had a linden for every misunderstanding, fight, and dramafest that occurred due to simple miscommunication I could buy like 8 sims. -sigh-So last night there was a big brouhaha with Midgar and one of my rental team members. In the end, it really came down to one person not knowing what they were supposed to do and miscommunication everywhere else. Had my internet not been acting up badly, I could have set it straight before it spiraled out of control.
One thing I have learned about SL is to do things voice whenever possible. This is because a) inflection in one's voice is VERY important and b) you can't be bitten in the ass later with chat logs. A LOT of things I've said in text have been taken completely out-of-context, blown-out-of-proportion, and just completely misunderstood because one couldn't tell the inflection. So much of our communication is non-verbal and it absolutely is lost in text communications. Not even emoticons can accurately bring it across.
